Ane Arrieta – Newport, RI – grew up dancing at the Newport Academy of Ballet. She continued her dance training with The Hartt School conservatory at the University of Hartford under the direction of Stephen Pier where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance with an emphasis in Ballet Pedagogy and graduated summa cum laude in 2020. While at the Hartt School she was able to perform historical and groundbreaking works by Jose Limon, Martha Graham, George Balanchine and Paul Taylor as well as work with contemporary choreographers Bryan Arias, Michelle Thompson-Ulerich and Francesca Harper. She has danced with the Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance, The Taylor School and Rioult Repertory Training Program. Ane has also worked in the Hartford community, bringing dance to underserved populations and children with exceptionalities with programs such as Spectrum in Motion and Prism Project. In 2019, Ane became a Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher (NCPT) and has been teaching for various Pilates studios since. She is excited to come back to her roots and join IMC as a trainee this season!
