SETTING THE STAGE FOR IMC’S NEXT FOUR DECADES

Welcome from IMC’s Board Advancement Committee Co-Chairs!

We hope you are all looking forward to a brighter 2021 as much we are. After a challenging and yet successful past year, IMC staff and board have been busy planning for the current season AND beyond as we look toward the company’s 40th Anniversary in 2022. There is much exciting news to share with you!

In this newsletter you will learn about IMC’s upcoming season, latest news around efforts to develop our new home, and you will be among the first to hear about exciting plans for IMC’s forthcoming 40th anniversary!

As we work to plan IMC’s  40th anniversary celebration in 2022 we would love to hear from you and possibly gain your ideas and support on how to best realize a memorable and successful anniversary celebration.

As a Curator’s Circle member, your feedback is important and we welcome your participation and ideas as we work to grow and sustain IMC’s stature as an inclusive and valued cultural institution for Newport County, Rhode Island, and beyond.

IMC recently got off on the right foot by kicking off its new season with a series of live streamed performances from the Gamm Theatre. “Together in this Dream-dancing through the digital divide” was an exhilarating and beautiful production presented March 5 & 6. The Saturday evening’s performance is now available for On Demand viewing through IMC’s box office in case you missed it.

IMC is cautiously planning a return to gathering audiences for live performances starting later this spring, with safety and accessibility in mind. Even as vaccinations become more publicly available, the virtual option of live arts performance will be a legacy of COVID that IMC will embrace. Look for more information on IMC’s upcoming season of performances in the accompanying articles and we hope we may see some of you in-person for the company’s spring repertory performances at the WaterFire Arts Center in Providence.

The production, entitled Return To Live! will be a “hybrid” performance offering audiences both an in-theatre AND virtual/livestream option. The performance will also feature live music and furthers IMC’s strategic goals to develop and engage new audiences around the state. Our patron base is growing geographically as friends, fans, and collaborators from afar can tune in to watch IMC live, and we hope you will help to share this news with all your friends and networks.

We are honored to co-lead the advancement committee at this exciting time for the organization, and plan to follow up with all the curator’s circle members with a personal phone call over the next month.

We look forward to getting to know you all better, and to hear your thoughts on how we can best advance IMC’s goals.

Sincerely,

Stephen Lane & Tina Harsch
