SHANE FARRELL (Pawtucket, RI) is a native of Rhode Island and his dancing has taken him to such places as New York City all the way to Los Angeles, CA. At the age of seven he began taking acrobatics classes and eventually furthered his training in all areas of dance. Shane trained at the Brae Crest School of Ballet and performed with the State Ballet of Rhode Island where he had the opportunity to perform in such ballets as Coppelia, Walpurgis Night, The Sleeping Beauty, and Giselle to name a few. He is a graduate from the Dance Teachers Club of Boston and has also appeared on several TV shows including MTV’s MADE, as well as being a semi-finalist in Las Vegas for the hit FOX TV show So You Think You Can Dance in 2007. Shane can also be seen dancing alongside Richard Gere in the 2010 film Hachi. He has also guested with several companies throughout the northeast and is a frequent guest artist with Spindle City Ballet in Fall River, MA. Aside from performing, Shane also spends his time choreographing. He was given the opportunity to choreograph Jack and Jill as part of IMC’s Mother Goose as well as premiering three new works on the Island Moving Company: Pheromone, Luminous and Pavo Cristatus. Shane has also had the opportunity to choreograph two etudes for IMC’s Great Friends Dance Festival in 2013 and 2014. He has also choreographed for the America’s Junior Miss Pageant as well as numerous dance schools throughout New England. Shane began dancing with Island Moving Company in the fall of 2009.
