KATIE MOORHEAD (Media, PA), trained with Oxford Center for Dance and later First State Ballet Theater of Delaware, performing with members from Russian Ballet Theater. She graduated with honors from the Kirov Academy of Washington DC. Katie joined Arts Ballet Theater of Florida where she was the first to receive an Honorable Merit Diploma from the Tersihora Foundation of St. Petersburg, Russia. While there she toured with the company to Denmark and Poland. In New York, she has worked with numerous companies including American Reperatory Ballet, Eglevsky Ballet, and Staten Island Ballet to name a few. She works as Rehearsal Director and company member with Untitled Collective, an international company split between Australia and NYC. Katie was a member of Bradley Shelver Contemporary Dance Theater and worked as a freelance artist with David Fernandez, CCDC, NYB Ballet, Indelible Dance, Seth Gertsacov, and Vanessa Tamburi while in NYC. She was also a ballet substitute at Alvin Ailey Extension Program for Kat Wildish.  In the fall of 2014, she directed and produced a benefit performance joining dancers, artists, and musicians at the Jamestown Arts Center, titled “Pro-Aesthetic,” of which she was very grateful and honored by all that participated. She is the owner and trainer of the GYROTONIC® Newport studio located on Broadway, where she trains many people from athletes, students to senior citizens in need of keeping their bodies fluid and pain free…. creating support for the joints and an all around healthier lifestyle.  Katie began dancing with Island Moving Company as a guest dancer in the spring of 2013 and joined the company the fall of that year. She looks forward to another great season with this unique company in Newport!

She is thankful to her Creator, family, teachers, and friends for their unwavering love and support. Her time off is spent traveling and studying.
