Edward McPherson graduated high school from the prestigious Interlochen Arts Academy, a boarding school in northern Michigan. He attended Indiana University’s ballet program for two years before accepting an offer to join Ballet West in Salt Lake City, UT. He danced professionally for 6 years. Transitioning out of dance Edward directed the middle and upper school ballet program at Saint Mary’s Hall in San Antonio, Texas. He later served as the Business Manager at the Midland Festival Ballet where he moved the company into the newly constructed 1,700 seat Wagner Noel Performing Arts Center. For five years Edward served on the administrative team of the Midland County Public Libraries as the Education and Program Coordinator. During that time the library system received numerous local, state, and national awards as it worked to redefine public library service in the community. Deeply engaged in the nonprofit sector, Edward served as the president of the Permian Basin chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, was named SeniorLink Midland’s 2015 Senior Corps Advisory Council member of the year, received the American Red Cross of the Permian Basin’s Volunteer Leadership Award in 2016, and launched the Midland Odessa Symphony & Chorale’s young professionals program. Edward serves the sector nationally as a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals US Government Relations Committee and on the Association of Fundraising Professionals Distinguished Fellows Selection Committee.
