The dancers will be performing during the traditional Open for Dancing weekend with a warm-up for the upcoming 2016 Open for Dancing season. Miki Ohlsen is creating a piece that will move through Queen Anne Square, accompanied by the Trinity Church carillon and then into the hubbub of Bowen’s Wharf, with local musicians providing music for vignette performances in diverse locations on the water there. The piece will also include students from Portsmouth Abbey School and members of the community. Participation is still open — please call if you can join us in the performance. Rehearsals are Thursday and Friday afternoon; the performances are 3pm and 4:30pm on Saturday, September 26th. Sponsored by Bowen’s Wharf.
IMC dancer Christine Sandorfi will make a site specific dance for the fabulous playground at the new Pell School, working with sixteen 4th and 5th graders. They’ll perform for the school at 1:30 and 2pm and for the public at 5pm on Friday, September 25th. The dance is made possible by David and Leslie Reed. All free! See you out and about at Open for Dancing.
