Island Moving Co. is pleased to announce the addition of two new dancers to the IMC community – welcome Tara Gragg and Azamat Asangul uulu!
Originally from Flint, MI, Tara Gragg received her BFA from the University of Oklahoma and comes to us from Chicago where she appeared with Civic Ballet Chicago, Aerial Dance Chicago, the Lyric Opera of Chicago, and most recently, Chicago Repertory Ballet.
Tara is also host of her own blog, Dear Dancer, where she recently posted about the Great Friends Dance Festival.
Azamat Asangul uulu hails from Issyk-Kul, Kyrgyzstan, where he trained for seven years before receiving advanced ballet training in Saint Petersburg, Russia. Azamat has performed with Kyrgyz National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre, and has toured with Moscow City Ballet in Europe and Asia, as well as with Russian National Ballet in the U.S.
Tara and Azamat both performed with Island Moving Co. this summer in our 2014 Great Friends Dance Festival and we are thrilled to have them with us for our 2014-2015 season!
We have said goodbye to all our guests — Surfscape Contemporary Dance Theatre, Marta Renzi and The Project, Lydia Johnson Dance, Part of the Oath, Ali Kenner Brodsky and Co., Matthew Westerby Co., John-Mark Owen and Mark Harootian. Valuable reviews in the Providence Phoenix and on NPR Before we let them go, we had a little group photo shoot before the show.
