SUMMER DANCE 2009

CREATIVE MOVEMENT — 3-5 YRS. OLD

• JULY 13 – 17, 9:30 – 11:30 am

COME CREATE A PERFORMANCE PIECE!
Over the course of the five days the children will create a dance performance piece based on the creative movement themes we explore. Simple costume and set pieces will be created for our performance during the crafts portion of the class.

COST: $140 minimum 8 students

BALLET Ia,b & II — 7 – 8 YRS. OLD

• JULY 20 – 24, 9:30 am – 12:30 pm

Experience Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Folk and choreography. We will also learn about stage make up and hair for ballet class and performance.
This workshop culminates in a mini performance on the last day.

COST: $160 minimum 8 students
$50.00 nonrefundable deposit due by May 15, 2009

BALLET III a,b,c – IV; 9 – 12 YRS OLD

• JULY 27 – JULY 31, 9:00 am – 12:30 pm

This a chance for the dancer with a few years of experience to explore different dance forms. Ballet, Modern, Folk, Jazz and choreography will be explored with more depth. The workshop will culminate in a mini performance on the last day.

COST: $190 minimum 8 students
$50.00 nonrefundable deposit due May 15, 2009

BALLET IV- V; 13 YRS. & UP (audition required)

• AUGUST 3 – 14, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm

This two - week workshop is for the more serious dancer. It will give the student the opportunity to devote more time to dance without the hurry of the school year. There will be technique and pointe classes, jazz, modern, and folk. We also begin some simple partnering. The afternoon hours from 2:30 - 4:00 will be spent rehearsing choreography and learning variations.

COST: $650 minimum 8 students

SUMMER WORKSHOP — NEW FOR 6 YR OLDS

This is a one-week workshop for children who will be entering the first grade in Sept. and have not yet had any formal ballet training. The children will be introduced to the ballet barre and learn more of the formal structure of the ballet class. They will have jazz classes and folk classes. They will begin to learn about hair for the ballet class and dress code requirements. In a fun friendly environment they will become prepared to enter the level I ballet class in the fall. Of course there will be plenty of time to create some of there own choreography and prepare a short performance to be given on the last day of class.

• July 6 - 10, 9:30 am – 12:00 pm

COST: $150 Minimum of 8 students
